The event as part of Octobre Rose

As every year, on the occasion of the “Pink October” month dedicated to the prevention and treatment of breast cancer, the Strasbourg International Senology Meeting (RISS) will bring together in Strasbourg the world’s best senology specialists. This multidisciplinary approach to the management of breast health, first conceived and developed in Strasbourg, will combine complementary disciplines for better care of those concerned.

The year 2026 is that of the 32nd RISS and it is also the 50th anniversary of the creation in Strasbourg of the International Society of Senology (SIS). It is currently chaired by Professor Carole Mathelin from the Strauss Europe Public Institute of Oncology.

The organizing committee of the RISS has chosen the following theme for the 2026 Rencontres: “From writing to screens and after ?” illustrating the considerable progress made in understanding the causes of breast cancer, its detection and treatment.

Organized in Paris (on September 30) and Strasbourg on October 1-2, 2026, this event will bring together international experts, health professionals, researchers, institutions, associations, patients, and civil society actors around major themes:

– innovations to optimize women’s breast health, 
– the issues of training and transmission to younger generations, 
– the environmental causes of cancers, 
– and the solidarity and humanitarian dimension of senology.

For three days

For three days, conferences, exchanges, meetings and debates will highlight the challenges of an ever more human senology, accessible and turned towards the future. The goal: to create links, share knowledge, strengthen cooperation and think together about tomorrow’s health.

Supported by the International Society of Senology, the National Academy of Surgery, the French National College of Gynecologists and Obstetricians, in partnership with UNICANCER and the Strauss Institute and numerous partner institutions, this event is for all those who want to advance breast medicine and surgery with rigor, commitment and openness.
